• We use a couple of different nurseries based in Brisbane who provide high quality plants from ethical sources – that way we know what we are buying and the quality of plant that we are providing to our clients.

  • We do transplant trees, however transplanting is challenging especially for larger trees or some variety of trees that don’t like to be on the move. This means that we can’t guarantee that transplanted trees will thrive in their new location, but we do provide soil nutrition and regular care to do our best to make the tree grow in its in new location.

  • Natives! There are so many varieties of native trees that I guarantee there is one to suit your garden or property. There are different factors such as soil, light, location, how quick or slow you want it to grow and how big you want the tree to reach.

  • We generally charge based on a per tree fee. This will include sourcing the tree from a high-quality nursery that Rob will hand pick. Then we dig the hole by hand and prep it by adding quality soil and organic worm juice fertiliser. We use stakes to provide support to the young trees and finally we add aged forest mulch to cover the soil. We’ll also come by for a follow up to check how the seeds are growing.

  • Always. We never do a job without Rob coming out to do a site inspection of the tree. That way we can provide you with a written quote based on the tree work, the access and any specialised equipment or crew we might need to bring in.

  • We sure are! This means we have spent years training and many dollars in becoming a qualified Level 3 Arborist. When you have qualified Arborists working on your trees, you have confidence that the work they are doing is in line with Australian Standards and doing what is right by the tree to maintain its health and to make it as safe as possible.

  • A tree lopper has no qualifications and therefore would not have appropriate insurances. A qualified arborist has years of training around tree care, tree health as well as the skills in pruning and removing trees. It’s a dangerous and highly skilled job and we would recommend you have highly skilled, qualified and insured staff to look after your trees. You’ll often save money and headaches in the long term.

  • If the scope of work remains the same, then there will be no additional costs added.

  • We take the debris away unless what we’re left with is some good quality mulch that would be suitable to leave in your garden or the base of your tree in which case we’ll offer to leave that and scatter around as per your requirements for free.

  • Sometimes! It depends on the tree and what level of protection the tree has based on Brisbane City Guidelines. Generally, you can prune up to 20% of live foliage in one calendar year without requiring permission. We always recommend getting a free VPO check from Brisbane City Council to check if there are any protected trees on your property.

  • No is the straight answer. When pruning a tree correctly (to Australian Standards) there are certain elements that need to be taken into consideration to make sure that the tree retains its structural integrity and maintains its overall health (to make sure that limbs or trees don’t fail and fall). If you are looking to lop the top of a tree for city views that is not something that we do.

  • It can be expensive for large trees or trees with difficult access. It’s highly skilled work that is very dangerous (being held into a tree by ropes up to 20 metres off the ground using a chainsaw!) To insure this type of work correctly, insurance are expensive as is Workcover to make sure all crew are properly covered on site. We use quality tools and kit to make sure that the work we perform is up to the highest standard.

  • The straight answer is slowly and carefully using highly skilled arborists who have exceptional rigging skills and a grounds team that pays close attention to your property. We have an exceptionally experienced team of arborists that allows us to remove trees that many other tree companies have to pass on.

  • No, we don’t but depending on your stump needs we have a couple of highly skilled and affordable stump grinding companies that we pass on or can co-ordinate directly with.

  • We are unable to touch any trees on council land. Just call Brisbane City Council on 07 3403 8888 who will be able to help.

  • It depends on whether that tree is protected. In order to find out we always run a free VPO check with Brisbane City Council to find out if there is any protection on the tree and if so, we can help you navigate the council in order to seek a permit for removal.

  • We always try to maximise the tree material depending on the type of tree. We may leave lengths to be milled or we may cut it up into firewood. We may mulch it and leave it on site for the client to use or take it to a local property who has requested it. We even have a client who is a wood turner and is always happy to take some quality wood for his projects.

  • No. In order to do tree reports you need to be a cert 5, Consulting Arborist. We pass on all reports to a Brisbane based company who we have a great relationship with. They have been around for a long time, have great knowledge of all things trees in Brisbane, super nice people and they have a good working relationship with Brisbane City Council.

  • Yes we can. As long as it is not a tree report we can provide Arborist notes.

  • Aside from the qualifications and experience ask around and find out from previous clients what they thought of the work, the process and the overall experience. You can check reviews or ask your neighbours. It’s also important that you work with someone who communicates well and can explain the whole process to you – you want to feel comfortable asking all your questions and sharing your concerns.

  • Like most things, if you get in specialised and skilled people you get better results, faster and with something as potentially dangerous as a tree, you want peace of mind that the advice and the work completed is up to standard and that your tree will remain healthy and that it will be a safe structure for people and property below.
